About

YIMFY 2020 is a temporary yard art gallery in Philadelphia – Visit the exhibit in the front yard at at 433 N 41st St (19104) and read more about the artists here.

YIMFY 2020 was initiated by Emily Bunker and Daniel Tucker on April 4th, 2020 with a simple premise: sharing the work of local artists/writers through yard signs in our front yard in a time of political-environmental-economic-health crisis. By taking the familiar form of the yard sign – the project is engaging a form that is indicative of election season, but also one that can be experienced in the context of physical distancing.

The signs were on view from mid April through the rescheduled PA Primary Election on June 2 and until the 5th July. Today the signs are still on display in small groupings.

Each artist received an honoraria for their contribution and the entire project budget comes from our anticipated Federal stimulus checks. If you’d like to get signs for your yard, see In Your Yard.
